Miriam Josi (Mimi) started her jewelry career as a self taught designer. She was born in Berne, Switzerland. As a child, she already revealed her creativity in different artistic expressions like painting, sculpture, and photography. Following a family tradition she studied education and worked at an orphanage home in India. Miriam grew up in Switzerland and Puerto Rico, where she went to the School of Fine Arts in San Juan. Working as a model gave her the opportunity to support her studies and to travel. At that time she liked to wear jewelry pieces that she had created herself. Her designs soon attracted friends and people from the industry. This motivated her to produce more jewelry, start her own line and dedicate herself to her true passion: Design.
Miriam later finalized her studies in Product Design at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City, where she included an exchange program with ENSCI-les Ateliers in Paris. She speaks English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Miriam’s designs have been published in magazines such as Annabelle, Bolero, Caras, Cosmopolitan, Friday, Z Magazin NZZ, Marie Claire, Metropolis Magazine, Ocean Drive, Tiempo de Relojes, Vanidades, Vogue and many others.
