Miriam Josi

Miriam Josi

Miriam Josi (mimi) is a self taught designer. She was born in Berne the capital of Switzerland. As a child, she already revealed her creativity in diverse artistic expressions like painting, sculpture, and photography.

Following a family tradition she studied education and offered her voluntary services at an orphanage home in India. She worked briefly as a teacher in Switzerland and decided to go abroad for further education in art.

In order to support her studies she worked as a fashion model until this became another career for her. At that time she also liked to wear jewelry pieces that she had created herself.  Her designs soon attracted her friends and other people especially from the fashion industry. This motivated her to produce more jewelry, start her own line and dedicate to her true passion: Design!

Miriam as an avid traveler knows no boundaries and introduces ideas that break the limits of conventional jewelry. In her work the elements of art and fashion co-exist complementing each other and revealing her influence by both worlds. Geometric forms that have always existed in space as well as elements of nature are the sources of her inspiration: circles that evoke the message of eternity and continuity of the universe, as well as water and flora that depict the beauty and fragility of the environment.
